“What you seek is seeking you,” Rumi said. Alignment is my term for finding a path of least resistance. Thinking through this lens has been game-changing for me because I have switched my focus from fighting the wrong battles to choosing the right ones. Life is simpler when I find alignment with the right people and endeavors. Alignment is about not working hard but rather choosing well.
What is the opposite of alignment? It is when I have to break myself or try to break the other person. It is when there is insurmountable inertia to doing something. It is when the pieces never fall into place. When instead of operating with reality, I try to enforce my illusions of how things should be. Alignment, on the other hand, is organic and authentic, effortless and inspired.
Alignment is still something to be actively worked on. However, when I reach alignment with people or ideas, I am in the flow, and things start getting easier even when I am doing something hard. Alignment doesn’t need to be created; it just needs to be discovered and uncovered. I already have the common ground with those people and projects. The question is:
